Solution Architect

A division of a government organization is responsible for providing all ICT facilities for its processes. A specific IT department develops these facilities in line with the primary process of an important chain. Work is being done on one of the most business-critical systems in the Netherlands, where many applications are developed and integrated into a single working solution. Quality is paramount.

To respond quickly and agilely to the wishes of stakeholders, continuous investments are made in product and process innovation. Large-scale adjustments to the application landscape are being prepared and implemented, over several years and in a controlled manner, so that processes can continue unimpeded while being renewed.

What you will do. For a department within the IT organization of a public service, an experienced Solution Architect is sought who can be quickly deployed and guide complex change projects. You will play a key role in the digital transformation of the supervision and detection domain, with specific attention to scan & detection technology, AI, video management, and sensor technology.

• You connect business, technology, and suppliers.
• You contribute to thinking at both solution and system architecture levels.
• You ensure coherence within the IT landscape.
• You ensure that solutions comply with architectural frameworks, security requirements, and laws and regulations.
• The initial focus of the assignment is on establishing functional and non-functional requirements for IT systems and infrastructure within the sensor landscape, to support a tender process for camera surveillance for border control.
• You will work on designing future-proof solutions for existing and new facilities in the areas of scan & detection technology, video management, AI, and sensor technology.
• You will translate these designs into concrete architectural products and requirements that serve as a basis for future tenders and further development of the domain.

What they ask

• Experience with architecture methods, modeling techniques, Enterprise Architecture frameworks, and languages such as TOGAF, Archimate, SAFe, and Lean Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
• Experience with security-by-design and compliance (CISSP, CISM, TOGAF, Archimate, or similar).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect or IT Architect in complex IT environments.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with platform renewal and integration of hardware/software (preferably sensor technology).
