This role is for a civilian employee within a defense organization, contributing to peace and security. You will work collaboratively in a team of military personnel, reservists, and civilian employees. The position is within the Aircraft Technology Training Department of an aviation education and training center, where technicians are trained for aircraft and helicopters. Specialized craftsmanship is central to the department.
What you do
- Daily work on specialized coating techniques for aircraft and helicopters
- Teach future technicians how to inspect, pre-treat, and apply high-quality primers, camouflage, and protective coatings that must withstand extreme conditions such as heat, cold, salt
- Combine practical knowledge with on-the-job guidance in practical classrooms, workshops, and spray booths
- Show students how to perform repair work, accurately apply coatings, and work according to the high-quality standards within military aviation
- Guide students in designing and producing markings and stickers for various applications
- Provide theoretical lessons on pre-treatment techniques, coating structure, material behavior, and safety, among other topics
- Prepare lessons, ensure materials and workplaces are ready, and monitor safety and quality standards during training
- Help professionals develop into technical specialists ready to work on aviation systems
What they ask
- Motivation and enthusiasm
- Minimum three years of experience in industrial paint processing, coating techniques, or specialized painting, preferably within aviation, industry, or another technically advanced work environment
- A technical MBO diploma at level 3 or higher
- Experience in guiding, coaching, or training colleagues, students, or technical personnel
- Interest in educating future technicians and willingness to follow an instructor training course
- A practical mindset and the ability to clearly convey technical knowledge
- Dutch nationality is required
