Clinical psychologist

A multidisciplinary practice is looking for a clinical psychologist to strengthen its team in therapy, psychodiagnostics, or a combination of both. The practice works with (young) adults from 16 years old and pays special attention to neurodivergence. The approach is neuroaffirmative, strength-based, and contextual.

What you will do. Therapy:

  • Conducting intake and therapeutic sessions
  • Drawing up and following up on treatment plans
  • Clarifying help questions, patterns, strengths, and change goals together with clients
  • Adapting guidance to the person, their context, and coping capacity
  • Working from scientifically substantiated therapeutic frameworks
  • Supporting clients in increasing insight, self-knowledge
  • Consultation and coordination with colleagues and other involved healthcare providers

Diagnostics:

  • Preparing and conducting diagnostic examination moments
  • Administering and scoring psychological and cognitive research instruments
  • Clinical observation during examination
  • Collecting and organizing relevant diagnostic information
  • Processing and interpreting research results
  • Integrating findings from various information sources
  • Writing clear and nuanced diagnostic findings
  • Formulating diagnostic hypotheses and clinical conclusions
  • Consultation with colleagues and other involved disciplines
  • Contributing to the further substantive development of the diagnostic work

What they ask

  • Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and meeting legal requirements to work as a clinical psychologist
  • Very good command of Dutch, good command of English

For therapeutic work:

  • Ability to independently take on therapeutic trajectories
  • Strong conversational and therapeutic skills
  • Ability to translate help questions into clear and achievable treatment goals
  • Ability to provide tailored care and adapt well to the needs, pace, and context of the client
  • Awareness of the influence of neurodivergence on the therapeutic process
  • Ability to critically reflect on one's own therapeutic actions
  • Familiarity with scientifically substantiated psychological interventions
  • Ability to handle complex or multiple help questions carefully and professionally
  • Alignment with a neuroaffirmative, strength-based, and contextual vision

For diagnostics:

  • Relevant experience with psychodiagnostic research
  • Sufficiently independent in preparing and conducting diagnostic examination moments
  • Familiarity with administering and scoring diagnostic instruments
  • Experience with clinical observation and reporting
  • Ability to critically interpret research results
  • Ability to bring together different information sources to form a nuanced diagnostic picture
  • Affinity and preferably experience with diagnostic questions related to neurodivergence
  • Ability to formulate diagnostic hypotheses and draw clinically substantiated conclusions
  • Openness to multidisciplinary consultation and substantive feedback
