An organization is looking for a Python Developer for a full-time contract opportunity. Freelancers can also apply.

What you will do.

Develop reliable and scalable backend services.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
Participate in refactoring and modernization initiatives for legacy codebases.
Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical standards and development practices.

What they ask

Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Python development.
Strong proficiency in Python backend development, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks.
Good experience with Pydantic and AsyncIO.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases such as MSSQL and PostgreSQL.
Experience with RabbitMQ and a good understanding of event-driven and service-based architectures.
Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithms, scalability, and maintainable code design.
Experience implementing automated testing, with knowledge of testing frameworks such as Selenium.
Strong understanding of CI/CD practices, software quality, deployment processes, and development best practices.
Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving complex technical issues in production environments.
Good understanding of IT security requirements, ideally within critical infrastructure or other highly regulated environments.
Experience working with legacy codebases and participating in refactoring and modernization initiatives.
Experience with Docker and containerized environments is a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Azure and NoSQL technologies is a plus.
Experience working on monitoring, alerting, application health, or operational platforms is highly relevant.

Profile

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required; German is a plus.
Ability to collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Architects, IT Operations, and other development teams.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
Experience working in an Agile development environment.
Ability to conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and provide technical guidance.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on building secure, scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment.
