Project Leader Public Charging Infrastructure for Vehicles and Vessels
The project leader is responsible for the further development of a large municipal public charging network and ensures that the charging infrastructure is ready for the future. You contribute directly to the transition to electric driving and boating for residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs. You do this by developing proposals to keep the public charging network affordable, reliable, accessible, and safe.
It is important to be able to charge anywhere in the city in an accessible, reliable, affordable, and safe manner. You passionately contribute to the transition to electric driving and ensure that the city's charging network is utilized smarter and better. You consider measures to utilize the public charging infrastructure more effectively, such as introducing a prolonged parking fee or a starting tariff.
What you will do.
- Translate complex issues into practical applications.
- Organize sufficient internal and external support.
- Set up the administrative decision-making process.
- Develop a plan of approach to initiate implementation.
- Discuss current topics with the project team and make agreements on actions.
- Discuss the impact of grid congestion with the concession holder and formulate an approach.
- Follow up on actions.
- Discuss current themes with colleagues from other major cities.
- Monitor the charging task and make proposals to the project team and the alderman for adjustments.
- Build strong collaboration, both within the organization and externally with Charge Point Operators, other major municipalities, and knowledge institutions.
- Actively engage with e-drivers and e-boaters, collaboration partners, and with residents and businesses to stimulate and enable innovations.
- Address complex issues such as price transparency, smart charging, and (financial) incentives for behavioral change.
- Be responsible for the proper functioning of the public charging infrastructure network.
- Ensure effective collaboration with concession holders and drive results that matter.
- Together with the contract manager, be responsible for constructive collaboration with concession holders (CPOs).
- Address new developments such as the implementation of European regulations and improve price transparency at charging stations.
Profile
The project leader collaborates with engaged and expert colleagues as well as various external stakeholders such as Charge Point Operators, other major municipalities, the National Government, and ElaadNL. With over 10,000 charging points, the largest municipal public charging network in the Netherlands is being developed. Together with colleagues from the G4 municipalities, knowledge sharing and joint solutions are pursued through the National Charging Infrastructure Agenda.
You will work with a project team consisting of colleagues from various departments and disciplines such as the contract manager, technical advisor, asset manager, and the operational placement team. The working atmosphere is informal and open, allowing for initiative and collaboration.

- Minimum 2 years of work experience as a project leader within a G4 municipality in the field of public charging infrastructure for e-drivers and e-boaters.
- Political-administrative sensitivity, persuasiveness, and well-informed about market developments.
- Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
- In possession of a recognized HBO diploma (document to be brought to the interview for verification).
- Agreement with the stated secondment conditions.
