An academic institution has established a listening and support unit to protect students against harassment, sexist and sexual violence, and discrimination. Independent of the affiliated higher education institutions (HEIs), the missions of this unit are:
- To ensure an accessible, neutral, and benevolent welcome.
- To provide specialized psychological, legal, and social support.
- To inform about applicable legislation regarding harassment, sexist or sexual violence, and discrimination, internal procedures, available support services, competent external relays, and available options.
- To provide support in implementing restorative measures adapted to the victim's experience and in preventing recurrence.
- To provide support within the framework of mediation.
- To provide support in dealings with academic authorities.
- To provide support in filing a complaint with external bodies.
- To produce an annual report of its activities.
What you will do. Under the responsibility of the Director of the academic institution, the psychologist will be responsible for:
- Taking care of victims, witnesses, third parties, persons implicated, and perpetrators.
- Providing first-line reception and listening.
- Redirecting to appropriate services.
- Participating in networking and sharing best practices.
- Preparing for and participating in working group meetings bringing together representatives of the relevant services from the institutions.
- Collaborating on prevention and awareness.
- Providing support and training to the relevant services within the HEIs.
- Ensuring continuous professional development.
- Reporting on encountered situations and leading the overall evaluation process of the entire system.
- Presenting the system to the decision-making bodies of the academic institution, in potential conferences, meetings, etc.
Profile
- Master's degree in psychological sciences.
- Useful experience in the field of psychological support for victims is an asset.
- For foreign diplomas, an equivalence from the FWB is required.
