Green Space Advisor
A public organization is looking for a Green Space Advisor to contribute to a greener, healthier, and more climate-resilient public space. You will work on projects that improve the living environment for residents by ensuring trees and planting are well-placed in public areas.
What you do
You will work on a green and future-proof public space, advising on trees, greenery, and growing sites within area developments, redesigns, and maintenance projects. You will make a significant contribution to the quality of the outdoor space. You will work on diverse projects and collaborate with designers, project managers, asset managers, and external consulting firms.
Within a team of green advisors and green project preparers, you will advise on trees and planting and ensure that projects are feasible and future-proof.
Your responsibilities will include:
- advising on trees, tree growing sites, and green design within integrated projects
- preparing, initiating, and evaluating tree inventories, Tree Impact Analyses (BEA's), and other tree technical studies
- managing applications for felling permits and provincial notifications of timber stands
- preparing planting plans
- initiating and supervising flora and fauna studies
- detailing tree growing sites in MicroStation, when necessary

- Collaborate and actively share knowledge with colleagues, project teams, and external partners
- Advise clearly and make complex information understandable for various target groups
- Take initiative and identify opportunities to improve projects and processes
- Work diligently and pay attention to quality in studies, permits
- Act with environmental awareness and balance interests within the public space
What they ask
- HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level
- Demonstrable knowledge of trees and greenery in public spaces
- Experience in preparing tree and green advice within integrated projects
- Experience with studies, permit processes, and/or green design issues
Practical
- Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17.05% on top of the salary
- Statutory leave of 144 hours per year for full-time employment + additional 57.6 hours = 201.6 hours, with the option to purchase extra days with the IKB
