Insurance medicine offers a unique opportunity to gain experience at the intersection of health, work, and social participation. You will play an important role in assessing the impact of illness and limitations on clients' daily functioning, with attention to sustainable employability, mental health, and workload.
What you do
- Conduct consultations with clients facing various physical, psychological, and social challenges.
- Investigate how health complaints affect functioning and assess an individual's remaining possibilities for work and participation.
- Consider medical aspects, social context, and personal circumstances of the client.
- Work within the social security domain and delve into laws and regulations such as the Ziektewet (ZW), Wet werk en inkomen naar arbeidsvermogen (WIA/WGA), and Werkloosheidswet (WW).
- Prepare socio-medical reports and advise on load capacity and employment opportunities.
- Daily assessment of complex issues from different perspectives.
- Develop conversational skills and gain experience with complex psychosocial problems.
- This role serves as valuable preparation for further training as a general practitioner or insurance physician.
Profile
- Graduated basic physician with a valid BIG registration.
- Interest in Occupational Health and social security.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Empathetic, curious, and solution-oriented.
- Interested in viewing health from a broader societal perspective.
