As a CNC machine operator, you will work with milling machines and control systems such as Fanuc or Heidenhain. The work involves simple to moderately complex products and repetitive series. You are the link between the programmer and the operator who keeps the series running. You will work day shifts. There is room to learn programming in Edgecam, with guidance from a programmer.
What you do
- Reconfigure the machine for the next order: clamping, tools, and zero point
- Load the program and check and adjust tool corrections
- Perform test runs and measure the first part, and adjust until it is within tolerance
- Monitor the series with intermediate measurements, ensuring the last part is also correct
- Identify wear, deviations, and improvement points and report them back to the programmer
What they ask You want to understand the cause of deviations and are reliable in completing tasks.
- MBO diploma at least level 2, preferably in machining or mechanical engineering
- Experience with CNC milling or turning and reconfiguring machines, or the willingness to take this step
- Ability to read technical drawings and work with calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges
