As a road maintenance manager, you are independently responsible for establishing and coordinating the maintenance and inspection planning for all road surfaces of a government organization. You ensure that management information and associated management processes remain up-to-date. The execution takes place in close collaboration with colleagues who supervise outsourced maintenance work.
You also work with the senior manager, fellow road managers, and colleagues from other disciplines to effectively coordinate the maintenance and replacement planning. The organization requires a temporary and results-oriented assignment for updating and integrally developing the multi-year maintenance and replacement planning for road surfaces.
The goal is to deliver an up-to-date, substantiated, and actionable management and maintenance file for municipal civil engineering structures, including priorities, measures, planning, and financial considerations.
What you do
- Establish and coordinate the maintenance and inspection planning for all road surfaces
- Update and integrally develop the multi-year maintenance and replacement planning for road surfaces
- Ensure that management information and associated management processes remain up-to-date
- Monitor integrity
- Deliver an up-to-date, substantiated, and actionable management and maintenance file for civil engineering structures, including priorities, measures, planning, and financial considerations
- Develop an integrally coordinated major maintenance plan for the next 5 years
- Develop an integrally coordinated replacement investment plan for the next 5 years
- Prepare project assignments for projects included in the replacement investment list
- Consult with urban planning on replacement investments
- Coordinate maintenance and replacement planning with colleagues and other disciplines
- Collaborate with colleagues who supervise outsourced maintenance work
Profile
The contractor is independently responsible for the realization of the agreed products and results and determines, within the established frameworks and available management information, the method of execution. Coordination with involved employees and disciplines within the government organization is aimed at obtaining information, monitoring integrity, and achieving the agreed results. The contractor is not part of the regular line organization and is not responsible for structural daily road management.

What they ask
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience as an executor or manager in the past 8 years in civil engineering
- Demonstrable completed education at least MBO level 4
- Demonstrable work experience in road construction as an executor or manager
Preferences.
- Demonstrable completed education at least HBO bachelor level
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years in sewer and road construction as an executor, supervisor, and/or manager
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience as a manager in establishing and coordinating the maintenance and inspection planning of road surface areas
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with contract management for road maintenance contracts such as element paving and asphalt
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience in the past 5 years with management processes related to management information
