Leading a department of over 60 employees who ensure safe and smooth passage for shipping and road traffic 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Responsible for the daily management of the teams, employee development, and creating a safe, professional, and customer-oriented working environment.
- Stimulates collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement, actively utilizing ideas and signals from the workplace.
- As a member of the management team, you are an important sparring partner for the department head and maintain contacts with internal and external stakeholders.
- You know how to translate policy into practice and can operate effectively in a complex and changing environment.
- Actively manage sustainable employability and oversee absenteeism files.
- Achieving a reduction in the absenteeism percentage is an important part of the assignment.

What they ask
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable and recent experience in leading large operational teams and stimulating the development, collaboration, and employability of employees.
- Demonstrable experience with personnel planning in a continuous roster and experience in resolving capacity bottlenecks.
- In possession of an HBO diploma (higher professional education).
- Knowledge of the Working Hours Act and relevant collective labor agreement provisions.
- Good command of the Dutch language, both written and spoken.
Preferences.
- Several years of demonstrable experience as a manager within a government organization, water board, municipality, province, or other public implementing organization.
- Demonstrable experience as a manager in a 24/7 environment.
- Demonstrable experience in reducing absenteeism within a team of at least 30 employees.
