Working towards a safe return of young people to society. You guide a group of 8 to 10 young people in their daily routine, implement treatment plans, and act as a mentor. The work environment is challenging, with young people residing due to a criminal justice measure and often having little trust in assistance and guidance. Your approach focuses on calm, clarity, and respect.
What you will do.
- Daily guidance of young people in a group, together with 2 colleagues per shift.
- Accompanying them to classes, providing moments of fresh air and relaxation.
- Mentoring 1 or 2 young people, with weekly contact.
- Playing an important role in contact with the young person's network.
- Tracking progress of your mentees in periodic reports and daily reporting on the entire group.
- Providing important, substantive input for treatment plans.
- Participation in a basic Youth training course after 4 weeks of onboarding.
- Opportunity to grow into a senior role.

Profile
- HBO diploma (higher professional education) in social work, pedagogy, or predecessors (sph, mwd), or an EVC certificate for the qualified HBO youth and family professional.
- Preferably relevant experience, also gained through internships or volunteer work.
- SKJ registration. If not available, it is possible to start as a group leader and then transition to a forensic youth counselor.
- Good physical condition.
- Ability to work irregular shifts.
Practical
- Participation in a basic youth training course of 16 consecutive working days after employment and onboarding period.
- The application procedure includes a home test (aptitude test and personality questionnaire), a selection day at a central location (control aptitude test, physical ability test, interview, assessment with role-play), and a shadowing day.
