A specialized company creates custom work in natural stone, ceramics, and composite for kitchens, bathrooms, and interiors. They are among the larger players in their sector and grow year after year. As a Project and Operations Consultant, you will work closely with the directors and form a bridge between the office, workshop, and client. You will gain in-depth knowledge of materials, people, and operations by actively participating, thus discovering areas for improvement.
What you will do.
- Bring calm and overview to daily operations:
- Assist with work preparation: checking dimensions, technical drawings, and cutting plans, ensuring dossiers are complete and correct before production.
- Follow up on client dossiers and be the point of contact for the workshop regarding execution, drawings, and planning questions.
- Manage larger projects from quotation to delivery, with attention to planning, site follow-up, communication, and quality.
- Monitor production planning, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate with colleagues to keep projects on track.
- Contribute to a stronger organization based on practical experience:
- Map the operations of different departments: where does extra pressure arise, where is time lost, what information is missing, and what agreements could be clearer?
- Together with involved colleagues, translate these insights into feasible improvements, such as shorter lead times, smoother handover between departments, better client communication, or more insight into cost prices and production parameters.
- Include quality follow-up and more efficient purchasing of consumables.
- Actively implement improvements and monitor their effectiveness.
- Contribute to an ERP transition and investigate how digitalization, AI, and new techniques can support people and processes.
- You don't have to tackle everything at once; you will get to know the company, determine priorities with the directors, and build step by step on what yields results.
Profile
- Technical background and interest in the broader functioning of a company.
- Understanding of the connection between client demand, work preparation, production, and installation.
- Energized by an environment where you can help provide direction and structure.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical or economic field, or equivalent level through experience.
- Experience in work preparation, production, or project management. Knowledge of the stone sector is a plus.
- Fluent in reading technical drawings and working accurately. Experience with AutoCAD or a similar package is an asset.
- Process and data-driven thinking, proficient with IT and Excel.
- Enjoy being among people: listening, respecting colleagues' expertise, and engaging them by explaining clearly and seeking solutions together.
- Combine an overview with the desire to get hands-on.
- Take initiative, set priorities, and persevere until an improvement works in practice.
- Fluent communication in Dutch and French.
