Youth Worker

• Conduct mentoring conversations with young people.
• Maintain contact with external organizations and aid workers (guardian, school, general practitioner).
• Ensure a safe and livable residential environment.
• Be a visible point of contact for the young people.
• Work closely within a team.
• Participate in meetings and intervision discussions to ensure quality.

What they ask

• Education: HBO diploma (e.g., Social Work, Social Work and Services, SPH, Pedagogy, or Applied Psychology).
• Registration: SKJ registered or the possibility to register in the short term.
• Work experience: preferably in youth care, mental health care, within a care institution, and/or welfare work.
• Personality: resilient, empathetic without losing professional distance, and clear in setting boundaries.
• Flexibility: availability for day, evening, night, and weekend shifts (night shifts are always wake-up shifts). This is a strict requirement for this position.
• Collaboration: always work with at least one other colleague.
• A relevant MBO education combined with an SKJ registration is also considered.

• Work at a reception center.
• Teams consist of 15 to 40 employees, including youth workers, residential supervisors, and behavioral experts.
• Initial one-year contract with a chance of permanent employment.
• Pre-employment screening: request for Certificate of Conduct (VOG), diploma and certificate verification, and identity check.
• No self-employment (ZZP) options, only salaried employment.
