Youth Professional

East FlandersHybrid34 hours/week<3months

A social district team is looking for a youth professional with expertise in case management and safety. The team works with families and residents and handles applications concerning upbringing and growing up, such as ASS, domestic violence, child abuse, (high-conflict) divorces, and PGB questions. Questions about mental health, finances, debts, informal care, and WMO are also addressed. The team is large enough to work from specializations and has various basic teams:

  • an intake team that conducts a broad inquiry, focused on appropriate support
  • a team that works with acute safety case studies
  • a specialized help & support team that provides basic assistance itself
  • a specialized case management team

What you will do.

  • In consultation with colleagues, dare to step outside the established paths of laws and regulations if necessary to provide appropriate support for the family
  • Act as a pivot between the youth, their parent(s), care provider(s), school, and the youth's network
  • Ensure appropriate help is delivered and, if necessary, seek alternative bridging support
  • Be critical and knowledgeable
  • Be able to work well under time pressure, define questions clearly, and maintain an overview
  • Be a true connector and have a good understanding of the (youth) care landscape
