IT Project Manager Modernisation & Migration Legacy
As part of a large digital and organizational transformation program, this assignment contributes to the modernization of systems, the improvement of operational efficiency, and better support for field services. The role is part of a strategic program for modernization and database migration, with the objectives of decommissioning critical legacy environments, particularly mainframes, and implementing modern platforms that support application functionality.
You will act as a Project Manager within a PMO team under construction, in a multidisciplinary environment composed of internal and external collaborators.
What you do
- Lead the project by defining a clear and realistic roadmap, offering an overview of the different migration phases
- Develop the project step planning to meet implementation deadlines
- Coordinate task distribution among technical teams and monitor work progress
- Pragmatically arbitrate operational priorities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- Identify, anticipate, and communicate potential risks such as delays, unforeseen costs, or lack of resources
- Manage dependencies between teams and facilitate collaboration to remove blocking points
- Ensure effective governance by bringing together the necessary stakeholders for decision-making and regularly reporting progress to management
- Support change management to make objectives concrete and sustainable for the teams
- Ensure the quality and value of deliverables for the organization
- Collaborate daily with technical teams, in line with infrastructure architecture challenges, needs analysis, and system modernization

- Solid experience as an IT Project Manager in complex transformation environments
- Confirmed expertise in project management, with the ability to structure, lead, and secure strategic initiatives
- Very good command of Business Analysis & Requirements to frame needs and guarantee the relevance of solutions
- Significant experience in Change Management to support the adoption of change within the organization
- Good understanding of Infrastructure Architecture and ability to work closely with technical teams
- Experience with Agile / Scrum approaches
- Experience in programs for modernizing and migrating legacy systems
- Experience in the public sector is a significant asset
- Skills in people management and coordination of multidisciplinary teams
- You communicate fluently in Dutch, French
Practical
- The work takes place at a location in Belgium, with an onsite presence at least twice a week in consultation with the team. Remote work is possible from Belgium.
