Technical Specialist Migration Street

South HollandHybrid36 hours/week6-12months

The technical specialist further develops a migration street based on a prioritized backlog.

  • The main result in the first half of 2027 is a working integration with a new archive system (CALS), so that migrations to the archive can commence.
  • In addition, the technical specialist increases the automation degree of the migration street.
  • Every further step that is automated reduces the effort per migration and directly contributes to the possibility of performing multiple migrations in parallel.
  • Within a comprehensive change program, new and existing information systems have been (re)designed to comply with the Archiefwet and the MDTO standard.
  • A central archive and legacy platform (CALS) is being set up based on a Document Management System with a records management function.
  • Approximately 100 million documents from the current integrated document management system (iDMS), the old SharePoint, and fileshares to be phased out must be cleaned, restructured, and enriched with metadata.
  • They can then be transferred to M365 Teams (work in progress) or CALS (archive).
  • The migration street, developed with Migrato (MICC) software, covers the approach from A to Z: instructions, communication, tooling, software, and decisions, recorded in a playbook and a runbook per team.
  • In 2027, the migration street will be further developed and widely deployed to migrate teams within the organization to MS Teams in combination with CALS.
  • The last pilots will run in Q1, and full production will scale up from Q2.

What you do

  • Align improvements with the project leader and ensure an adequate related backlog.
  • Plan releases in consultation with the migration director, outside the migration windows.
  • Align releases with the program-wide release program and work closely with other projects in the program that provide related technical solutions, such as the implementation of CALS.
  • Analyze technical failures reported by migration specialists and translate them into backlog items.
  • Work closely with software vendors to ensure proper connection and integration with other (process) steps within the migration street.
  • Advise the project leader on additional migration resources, if necessary.
  • Plan, organize, and execute the various necessary release tests.
  • Perform activities for the further optimization of the migration street.
  • Work closely with the management organization for the freeze approach of source locations, access management, and realization of target environments.
  • Work closely with the involved supplier(s) of software solutions.

  • Demonstrable work experience with successfully setting up a migration street that ensured the preservation of file formation and metadata during migrations to the target environments.
  • Demonstrable work experience in collaboration with software vendors involved in the implementation and execution of migration streets for document migration projects.
  • Demonstrable work experience with Azure DevOps, Git, or similar for backlog and version control.
  • Demonstrable work experience in at least one (1) assignment of a minimum of one (1) year within a (semi-)governmental organization in the past five (5) years, where the candidate provided the technical execution of document migrations.
