What you do
Education and Research Domain: History of International Law. Teaching assignment:
- Coordinate and supervise participation in a European learning community for legal history.
- Guide master's thesis students in the Law program.
- Occasionally provide guest lectures, in English, in other course units.
Research assignment:
- Conduct scientific research in the field of the history of international law.
- Publish national and international scientific contributions in peer-reviewed journals and volumes.
- Execute and autonomously manage scientific research.
- Apply for internally or externally funded projects and mandates.
- Organize study days and colloquia.
- Act as a promoter or jury member for doctoral candidates.
- Develop and maintain a scientific network.
Other tasks:
- Contribute to the general operation of the research group, department, and faculty.

- Doctoral degree in Law.
- A prominent publication and external funding record, evidenced by publications in recognized databases and/or international recognition of one's own research.
- Ambition and potential to apply for research grants, in accordance with the institution's research council policy.
- Demonstrable experience or potential in teaching for a diverse and international student population, as well as in blended learning.
- Demonstrable potential to anchor a successful and established learning community for legal history within a European network with various partner universities.

Language requirements:
- Knowledge of the teaching language (Dutch) at CEFR level C1, demonstrable by a qualification certificate or an adequate diploma. Courses in academic English are also provided.
- Knowledge of the administrative language (Dutch) at CEFR level B2 within a maximum of 5 years (an integration trajectory is possible).
- For non-EEA nationals: meet the conditions for obtaining a valid permit and residence conditions.
