Financial specialist
A public safety and health organization works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on public safety and health. This organization includes the Fire Department, GGD, Ambulance Care, Crisis Management/GHOR, and Veilig Thuis, and is ready to serve the residents of 15 municipalities in the region. What you do
As a financial expert, you make an important contribution to the monthly closing of the financial administration and the preparation of (project) reports. You manage financial applications as a key user, analyze suspense accounts, manage the fixed asset administration, make complex journal entries, and ensure correct processing of transactions in the general ledger. In addition, you make a significant contribution to improving the quality of financial administration and associated processes.
For this, it is important that you delve into the processes. You improve financial accountability and common bookings. Furthermore, you play a role in the further development of a new financial system.
Responsibilities.
- You are the point of contact for budget managers regarding financial questions.
- You contribute to the monthly closing of the financial administration and the preparation of (project) reports. You identify discrepancies and take action to resolve them.
- You actively participate in improving and making financial processes more efficient.
- You support internal controls and the auditor's review.
- You think along with the organization about financial and organizational issues.
- You identify where activities or processes can be improved and take independent action.
- You translate subsidy and regulatory frameworks, including SPUK schemes, into practical financial frameworks and lawful implementation.

What they ask
- Demonstrable completed education at a minimum of MBO-4 level and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 2 years in the role of financial specialist within a (semi-)governmental organization. Clearly explain this with at least one concrete example and/or reference project.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable completed financial education at a minimum of HBO bachelor's level.
- Demonstrable work experience in the past 3 years at a Safety Region and/or GGD in the role of financial specialist. Clearly explain this with at least one concrete example and/or reference project.
- Demonstrable work experience with Besluit Begroting en Verantwoording (BBV). Clearly explain this with at least one concrete example and/or reference project.
