Doctor in specialist training

GelderlandHybrid30 hours/week<3months

As a doctor, you are looking for the ideal combination of sharp clinical diagnostics and long-term recovery support. You will work at the intersection of High Intensive Care (HIC) and Acute Recovery Treatment (ART) within a healthcare organization. At the HIC, you are a point of calm in acute crisis, while at the ART, you build a perspective for the future together with the patient and their loved ones. This is a challenging role where medical expertise and human proximity go hand in hand.

The healthcare organization has been working in a new clinic since March 2025 and is continuously developing its diagnostic and (group) treatment offerings. Different disciplines collaborate equally. You will be part of a dynamic treatment team active on both the HIC and the ART. The HIC is a short-term, closed clinical admission unit with 26 beds, where people in severe psychiatric distress are cared for with dignity.

Here, safety and protection are combined with respectful care and treatment, aiming to reduce coercion and pressure and help clients regain their self-direction. The ART, also with 26 beds, is a closed unit where clients stay longer to work on their recovery, aligning with their needs, strengths, and wishes. Together with colleagues from an expertise center for people with mild intellectual disabilities and psychiatric problems, you form a joint treatment team.

In close collaboration with, among others, clinical psychologists, generalist remedial educationalists, and specialized nurses, all admissions are discussed in multidisciplinary meetings (MDOs) and the most appropriate care is determined together. The patient population is diverse and relatively young (18-65 years), ranging from people with severe psychiatric disorders (EPA) to clients who are encountering psychiatry for the first time.

Voluntary and involuntary admissions alternate, with much attention paid to systemic work and building genuine connections.
