DevOps Engineer

As a DevOps engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary technical project team responsible for the preparation and technical validation of a business-critical chain within the information provision of a government organization. You will analyze existing Enterprise applications, custom components, and technical dependencies.

You will map the current application architecture, assess the impact of technical changes, and contribute significantly to the preparation of migration, modernization, and lifecycle projects. From your technical expertise, you will advise on the feasibility of changes and the necessary measures to enable a safe and manageable transition.

What you do

  • Analyze and document the existing application architecture and technical setup.
  • Inventory and assess custom components and their technical quality.
  • Analyze interfaces, APIs, and connections with internal and external systems.
  • Determine and document technical dependencies within the application landscape.
  • Perform impact analyses regarding migrations, upgrades, and technical changes.
  • Support the development of a test strategy.
  • Contribute to technical validations and feasibility analyses.
  • Advise on the technical feasibility of proposed solutions.
  • Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and points of attention within the application landscape.
  • Coordinate with architects, developers, administrators, suppliers, and other technical stakeholders.

Profile

You will work closely with solution architects, developers, functional administrators, management teams, infrastructure specialists, and suppliers. We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer with extensive knowledge of complex Enterprise applications, software development, integrations, and lifecycle management within a specific chain. You are analytically strong, possess broad technical knowledge, and are able to translate complex application landscapes into clear analyses and concrete advice.

What they ask

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrable experience with SQL Server, Microsoft.net, and Enterprise applications.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with maintenance and analysis of complex applications involving API integrations.
  • Knowledge and experience with a specific application chain of a G4 municipality, including related components and their interdependencies and integrations.
  • In the past 5 years, a minimum of 3 years of work experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Minimum HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level.
  • In possession of a recognized HBO diploma.

Preferences.

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with legacy modernization.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with enterprise application landscapes.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience within the government sector.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience with lifecycle management.
