A closed admission unit with 10 beds within a healthcare institution provides acute psychiatric care. Clients are admitted via emergency psychiatry, an emergency department, or sometimes from home. Stays are generally short-term, often no longer than a few days. These clients frequently suffer from severe psychiatric disorders and are often admitted under a crisis measure. Admission occurs when there is no available space within the regular emergency chain in the region.
Transfer or discharge follows as soon as a suitable place becomes available or the indication expires.
What you will do.
- Triage and inventory of the request for help
- Coordination of care for clients
- Performing nursing actions and interventions for clients with severe and/or complex mental health complaints
- Providing nursing care, guidance, and support during an acute psychiatric situation
- Offering support in acute situations and contributing to de-escalation
- Drawing up, implementing, and evaluating care plans
- Observing and signaling changes in the condition of clients and adjusting care accordingly
- Close collaboration with other healthcare providers and institutions within and outside the region
- Guiding clients in daily activities and stimulating their self-reliance
- Administrative tasks, such as maintaining client files and reports

- Completed MBO-4 or HBO Nursing education
- Willingness to work irregular shifts

- A Certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required
