Youth Consultant
As a Youth Consultant, you make a difference for children and families with a need for help. You strengthen their self-reliance, stabilize their living situation, and promote their well-being, with the aim of enabling them to function as independently as possible. Trust, diligence, and time form the basis for this. You guide the entire assistance process, from registration to completion, and together with the family, network, and professionals, you draw up an integrated and goal-oriented plan of approach.
You substantiate the assistance provided well, both orally and in writing, and regularly evaluate whether it has the desired effect. When the safety of a child or family is at stake, you take immediate action.
What you will do.

Profile
You investigate the request for help and the desired outcome, speak with stakeholders, and assess what assistance is needed. The requests for help are very diverse, ranging from simple parenting questions to complex problems in various areas of life. You will work closely with Veilig Thuis, youth protection, and the Council for Child Protection, where you will lead and seek coordination with the youth and safety process manager.
You will work under the responsibility and direction of the responsible team leader of a government organization. You will work within the applicable municipal work processes and frameworks, receive instructions where necessary regarding the execution and prioritization of tasks, and participate in regular work and case meetings.
What they ask
- Demonstrably in possession of a valid SKJ registration (registration number and validity period explicitly stated)
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as a youth consultant within a government organization
- Demonstrably completed education at a minimum HBO bachelor level in the direction of Social Work, SPH, and/or MWD
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with independently managing a caseload within the Youth Act
Wishes.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience in the past 10 years as a youth consultant at a government organization
- Demonstrable work experience with drawing up, implementing, and evaluating a family plan and/or support plan and managing a caseload
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with/knowledge of Gidso from Topicus in performing tasks within the social domain
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with methodical and systematic work within youth casework and the ability to apply this methodology
- Minimum 2 years of demonstrable work experience with youth and safety casework involving collaboration with Veilig Thuis and/or a certified institution for youth protection and/or the Council for Child Protection
