An HR specialist manages IT projects for various clients across Flanders and Brussels. To strengthen the team, a Cobol Software Engineer is sought for one of their clients. This position can be filled with either a permanent contract or a freelance contract.
What you will do.
- Develop Cobol programs within an internal B2B software package
- Work on projects related to invoicing, article data, article prices, and customer management
- Develop, test, and implement solutions
- Integrate applications with other systems and platforms
- Analyze and resolve incidents and technical problems and follow up on processes in collaboration with the helpdesk
- Collaborate on integrations between a COBOL-based system and supply chain applications (PL1 and Java)
- Work in an environment with Red Hat Linux (VMware), Oracle 11 database, ACUCOBOL 85, EasyMap, Java SDK, Apache Ant (HTTP/SOAP XML), and IBM WebSphere Application Server
Profile
- At least 5 years of experience as a Cobol Software Engineer
- Experience with Oracle databases is a plus
- Analytical, solution-oriented, and eager to learn
- Communicative and team-oriented
- Good knowledge of Dutch and English, French is a plus
