Occupational Therapist Disability Care
The expert team of paramedics is looking for a new occupational therapy colleague. The client group ranges from mildly intellectually disabled to very severely multiply disabled. Both wheelchair-bound clients and clients with autism fall within the target group.
What you will do. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be involved in:
- Wheelchair applications and adaptations
- Lifting advice
- Providing instructions to support staff
- Sensory Integration (SI) issues
- Decubitus prevention
- Epilepsy and day activity programs
You will work within the WLZ (Long-term Care Act) and in primary care. Home visits are conducted for clients where necessary. The activities primarily consist of advising and providing instructions. You will move between different locations throughout the day. You will collaborate with physiotherapy, speech therapy, behavioral specialists, and disability physicians. Additionally, you will work extensively on the floor, having frequent contact with (personal) supervisors.
You will also participate in multidisciplinary consultations (MDOs) and personal plan discussions.
Profile
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) diploma in occupational therapy
- Knowledge of postural problems (or willingness to develop this)
- Relevant work experience is a plus
- Excellent command of the Dutch language
- Patient, good communication skills, creative, enthusiastic, and able to switch quickly
