What you will do. As a groundworker, you will work with machine operators and other colleagues on various earthmoving and infrastructure projects. You will ensure that work is carried out safely, neatly, and according to schedule. You will work with modern equipment and provide important support to machine operators and colleagues on the project.
You will experience a lot of variety in your work, from regular earthmoving projects to complex tasks using suction technology to work safely around existing cables, pipes, or foundations.
- Perform various earthmoving activities
- Digging and backfilling trenches and pits
- Clearing cables and pipes
- Assisting with work on cables, pipes
- Preparing the subsoil for construction and infrastructure projects
- Applying and compacting sand and soil
- Assisting crane and mini-excavator operators
- Manually excavating in places where machines cannot safely reach
- Performing work around foundations
- Supporting earth suction activities
- Performing minor paving and repair work
- Placing and removing barriers
- Checking the workplace for safety
- Signaling cables, pipes, and other obstacles
- Working according to drawings and instructions from the supervisor
- Ensuring a safe and tidy workplace
- Collaborating with machine operators, supervisors, and other groundworkers
What they ask We are looking for an experienced professional who can work independently and knows how to work safely and efficiently on a construction or infrastructure project.
- Demonstrable experience as a groundworker
- Experience in earthmoving, civil engineering (GWW), or infrastructure techniques
- Experience with cables, pipes, and/or sewers is a plus
- Ability to perform tasks independently
- Knowledge of working safely around machines
- Good command of the Dutch language
- In possession of a B driving license
- VCA Basic or willing to obtain it in the short term
- Physically capable of performing ground work
- Reliable and adheres to agreements made
- Works safely and accurately
- A real go-getter
- Good ability to collaborate with machine operators and colleagues
