Communication and Valorisation Coordinator

Flemish BrabantHybrid20 hours/week<3months

An interdisciplinary knowledge center of an educational institution is looking for a communication and valorisation coordinator for a research project. This project aims to achieve a fundamental shift in the approach to homelessness: from managing to preventing it. The project develops, tests, and evaluates prevention strategies at multiple levels, based on robust empirical research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and co-creation with the field.

Valorisation is an integrated process throughout the project, guided by the core principles of relevance, legitimacy, capacity building, and mutual learning.

What you will do.

  • Stakeholder engagement: building and maintaining close relationships with a societal stakeholder board and coordinating the often complex processes of coalition building among these partners.
  • Organization of dissemination and valorisation activities: contributing to the development of policy notes, practical guidelines, training modules, an online prevention toolkit, and a policy roadmap.
  • Societal deliverables: supporting the creation of annual policy notes per work package, webinars, and training modules.
  • Communication and visibility: managing and expanding the project website (updates, structure, accessible summaries of research results), developing and following a social media strategy, and being responsible for the design and final editing of reports, policy notes, infographics.
  • Coordinating press moments and press releases in collaboration with the communication services of partner organizations, writing blog posts and newsletters, and developing public-oriented formats such as podcasts, videos, or webinars.
  • Coordination with project management: being part of the Executive Board and working closely with the project coordinator to align valorisation and communication efforts with overall project progress.

Profile

  • Preferably a master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., social work, sociology, policy sciences, or related fields).
  • Affinity with valorisation, knowledge transfer, and the translation of research into policy and practice, preferably in the field of welfare, housing, or social policy.
  • Experience with or interest in participatory methodologies (e.g., Living Labs, co-creation, world cafés) and bringing together diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, practice organizations, and experts by experience.
  • Strong networker and communicator, able to easily switch between academic, policy, and practice-oriented contexts.
  • Experience with or affinity for communication: writing accessible texts, managing websites and social media, and (in collaboration with a designer) translating research results into attractive visual communication.
  • Independent, results-oriented, and with an eye for the long-term embedding of project results.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and oral.

Offer.

  • An exciting position within a driven, interdisciplinary consortium with an extensive network of societal and international partners.
  • A 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension after positive evaluation, within a multi-year project.
  • The opportunity to form a direct bridge between scientific research and the policy and practice field concerning the prevention of homelessness.
  • A dynamic work environment with room for personal and professional development.
