This assignment focuses on the analysis, structuring, and harmonization of enterprise-related data, within the framework of implementing a common repository within an organization. The objective is to reduce dispersion and duplicates, improve data quality, and promote their reuse according to the "Only Once" principle. The Data Analyst acts as an interface between business lines, data managers, governance teams, and technical teams.
They produce the analyses necessary for data understanding, usage documentation, identification of redundancies, and preparation of governance decisions. They collaborate closely with a team including a project manager, a technical coordinator, and a Data Engineer.
What you do
Data Source Analysis.
- Evaluate business data sources to measure their relevance, quality, integration methods, and organizational impacts
- Identify and mobilize relevant stakeholders for each data source
- Organize and facilitate business workshops, analysis meetings, and facilitation sessions
- Formalize results in the form of reports, analyses
- Document data managed by different sources
- Describe business definitions, creation, collection, and update processes
- Identify the legal framework applicable to data processing
- Characterize data according to their criticality, sensitivity, personal, strategic, or reusable nature
- Inventory usage, update frequency, and existing quality control mechanisms
Data Exchange and Integration Analysis.
- Document existing exposure mechanisms and interfaces
- Identify exchange constraints as well as application and organizational dependencies
- Analyze candidate data for integration into the repository
- Document their definition, origin, frequency of availability, expected quality level, and associated responsibilities
- Detect semantic or functional conflicts and formulate harmonization recommendations
Data Inventory, Modeling.
- Design and evolve the inventory model
- Structure business concepts, data dictionaries, and conceptual models
- Populate and update the inventory with collected information
- Ensure the consistency, quality, and updating of inventoried data
- Identify the assigned manager of a source or data when necessary
- Qualify data according to their sensitivity, GDPR status, strategic nature, Open Data potential, and dissemination restrictions
- Prepare useful documentation for populating a metadata catalog
Harmonization and Simplification.
- Identify redundancies between multiple data sources
- Compare business definitions, calculation rules, and collection methods
- Evaluate the degree of semantic proximity between similar data
- Propose simplification avenues and analyze their functional, organizational, or legal impacts
- Lead working groups to build a common definition when multiple concepts coexist
- Contribute to clarifying data management responsibilities
- Prepare the elements necessary for governance body decisions
Data Reuse.
- Identify data that could be consumed by other applications
- Analyze business benefits, functional and legal impacts, and necessary adaptations
- Contribute to the identification of reference data
- Evaluate the legitimacy and quality of existing sources
Profile
- Confirmed experience as a Data Analyst
- Proficiency in business data analysis and modeling, including the design of conceptual models, data dictionaries, and concept structuring
- Solid experience in semantic analysis and harmonization of business concepts
- Ability to lead business workshops, facilitate exchanges between stakeholders, and formalize results
- Good knowledge of data governance and clarification of responsibilities
- Understanding of data reuse principles, Only Once, Open Data, and reference data
- Excellent oral and written communication, synthesis, formalization, and assertiveness skills
- Pragmatic approach, service orientation, flexibility, and needs orientation
- Excellent command of French
