Civil Affairs Specialist

• Process and assess applications, and check, register, and record identity documents and legal facts.
• Process life events in the Personal Records Database (BRP), the Civil Registry, and the Non-Resident Register (RNI).
• Assess naturalization applications.
• Record legal facts in the automated personal registration system.
• Correspond personally, by email, and by letter with citizens, courts, and lawyers.
• Research laws and regulations concerning complex issues.
• Provide support to citizens via electronic declaration, telephone, email, or at the counter.
• Verify documents and be alert to irregularities, including back-office investigations.
• Obtain information from the knowledge base or from internal specialists, or contact external bodies for additional information.

What they ask

• MBO 4 level (equivalent to vocational secondary education).
• Completed all civil affairs modules.
• Work experience in a civil affairs department.
• Knowledge of national and international laws and regulations in the field.
• Good command of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
• Available to work at least 1 evening per week (Tuesday or Thursday evening).
