As a medical social worker, you guide patients and their relatives through the psychosocial consequences of illness, treatment, and significant life events. You offer support when daily life is under pressure and help people regain control of their situation. You are an important point of contact for patients, relatives, and colleagues. You work closely within a multidisciplinary team and maintain contacts with external care and aid organizations to arrange appropriate support.

Profile
You are a committed professional who easily connects and can effectively respond to the needs of patients and their relatives. Even in complex or emotionally charged situations, you maintain an overview and know how to provide appropriate support.
What they ask
- A completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Social Work or Social Work and Services;
- Relevant work experience as a medical social worker; experience within a hospital is a plus;
- Knowledge of the social map of the area;
- Experience with motivational interviewing;
- The ability to quickly assess a psychosocial situation and implement appropriate interventions;
- A proactive, development-oriented attitude;
- Good collaboration skills and an understanding of the various interests within a multidisciplinary work field;
- Affinity with the Women and Children's Center;
- A good command of the Dutch language. Speaking German and/or English is a plus;
- Flexibility to also work in other focus areas of the team.
