What you will do. In your first project as a Freight Forwarder, your tasks include:
- Organizing and coordinating national and international transport by road, rail, sea, and air.
- Operationally monitoring transports and overseeing departures, railcars, and VGM processes.
- Preparing and correctly processing transport and shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Letters of Instruction, Dispatch Advices, and Mate's Receipts.
- Receiving and processing customs documents and ensuring accurate administration.
- Managing and updating transport information, procedures, and documentation.
- Preparing container and cargo lists and communicating about them with involved parties.
- Informing clients about costs, transit times, and the status of their shipments.
- Ensuring smooth cooperation and knowledge transfer within the team.
Profile
What makes you the ideal Project Consultant for this assignment:
- You hold a bachelor's degree, ideally in a logistics field.
- You have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Freight Forwarder or in a similar logistics function.
- You have strong operational knowledge of freight forwarding and logistics processes.
- You are familiar with transport documentation and various IT systems.
- An IMDG certificate (dangerous goods) is a plus.
- In addition to excellent knowledge of Dutch, you have a good knowledge of English and French.
- You are proficient with MS Office and quickly learn new systems.
- You are flexible in projects and distance, and you adapt easily to new environments and working methods.
- You work accurately, are stress-resistant, and maintain an overview when priorities shift.
- You are proactive, take initiative, and always think a step ahead.
- You have strong communication skills and are customer-oriented.
- You are a team player who also functions excellently independently.
- You are willing to gain experience in various functions, sectors, and companies.
