A healthcare organization provides specialized youth care to adolescents and young adults with mild intellectual disabilities (MID), behavioral problems, psychological disorders, and forensic issues. What you will do. As a behavioral scientist, you will be responsible for the entire treatment process for young people – from registration to completion. You will work methodically, supported by scientific insights, with the aim of providing appropriate and effective help. You will also be co-responsible for the pedagogical living environment, make adjustments where necessary, provide substantive support to the care team, and actively contribute to professional development.
Client-related tasks:
- Drawing up and adjusting care plans
- Implementing appropriate and effective treatment methodologies
- Coordinating the care trajectory
- Participating in and shaping multidisciplinary consultations
- Timely advising on scaling up or down care
- Conducting diagnostic research
Organization-related tasks:
- Guiding and coaching care professionals
- Identifying care developments and contributing to policy
- Contributing ideas on procedures, protocols, and quality improvement around the primary process
- Representing the organization in internal and external consultations
What they ask
- University degree in (developmental) psychology, (forensic) orthopedagogy, or as a behavioral scientist
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in youth care (preferably)
- SKJ registration in the psychologists' or pedagogues' chamber (or possibility of registration)
- Basic annotation in psychodiagnostics
- Knowledge of complex issues (mental health, MID, forensic care)
- Knowledge of primary care and the social domain
- Experience with evidence-based methodologies and knowledge of laws and regulations (Jeugdwet, Wmo, Wlz, Zvw)
- Strong communication skills, team spirit, and a flexible attitude
- Cultural sensitivity, resilience, and the ability to distinguish main from side issues
