Within a retail organization, the daily goal is to create an optimal shopping experience. As an Assistant Store Manager, you contribute to this by overseeing processes, ensuring employee satisfaction, and aligning the store with customer wishes. You create a safe environment and are given room for commercial development of the store, resulting in a commercial and clean store with an engaged team.
What you do
You are responsible for one of two specializations:
- Process & Goods Processing: You lead the department that ensures well-organized processes, a stocked, and clean store.
- Customer & Commerce: You focus on the commercial plan and alignment with customer needs, and you lead colleagues in the fresh produce and checkout departments.
You work with your team to achieve goals, celebrate successes, and encourage colleagues to think about their department and the store. You develop team members, foster collaboration, and ensure a pleasant working atmosphere. You achieve set goals regarding turnover, shrinkage, customer, and employee satisfaction. You utilize colleagues' talents and are entrepreneurial by identifying opportunities, such as adding local products or contributing to neighborhood initiatives.
You also operationally support the team and are responsible for development interviews and recruiting new colleagues.
Profile
- You have a higher professional education (hbo) diploma. With an mbo 4 or havo diploma, an assessment may be part of the procedure.
- You are a reliable and inspiring leader, with empathy and commitment.
- You are customer-oriented, decisive, and authentic.
- You can translate your vision into concrete steps.
- You have experience in leading large groups of colleagues.
