Social psychiatric nurse crisis service

South HollandHybrid22 hours/week<3months

A healthcare organization provides 24/7 emergency care to psychiatric patients in crisis in the region. For this Crisis Service, social psychiatric nurses (SPN) with a passion for psychiatric crisis care are sought, where collaboration, quick decision-making, and flexible deployment are essential. During crisis shifts, you are constantly available for patients and their system. Crisis assessments are carried out as much as possible at clients' homes or at a safe assessment location.

As an SPN, you are able to perform both telephone triage at the control room and crisis assessments, always with your multidisciplinary crisis team. You work closely with resident doctors, the psychiatrist, and other SPNs.

What you do

  • Maintain contact with the patient, family/relatives, and involved chain partners, together with colleagues (SPN, resident doctor, psychiatrist).
  • Shape the triage process, together with fellow SPNs and/or Mental Health Triage staff.
  • Ensure that all parties are well-informed and that collaboration proceeds professionally, with the principle: 'first provide care, discuss afterwards'.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the content and working methods of the crisis service.
  • As a team, together with the schedulers, ensure 24/7 accessibility and operationality.

Profile

As a Social Psychiatric Nurse in the crisis service, you are energized by quickly switching in a crisis situation and can maintain a good overview. You are resilient and can handle the nature of the work well: periods of high activity or calm. In addition, you involve the system and make the client's network more transparent by involving them.

What they ask

  • A completed SPN training or Master in Mental Health Nursing (MVGGZ).
  • A BIG registration.
  • An AGB code or the ability to apply for one.
  • Experience in acute psychiatry.
  • A valid driver's license.

Where you will work. The crisis service team is a multidisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, resident doctors, SPNs, nursing specialists, and triage staff. Work is carried out according to the National Standard for Acute Psychiatry (ZAP) established for the first 72 hours of a psychiatric crisis. There is close collaboration with colleagues from clinics, intensive home treatment teams, and acute day treatments (IHT/ADB), other care functions, and partner institutions.

The role can be performed both clinically and ambulantly.
