You will join criminal investigations into cases that have a major impact on society.
- You perform complex analyses, combining various data sources.
- You translate vague signals or complex issues into sharp research questions, taking into account legal possibilities and limitations.
- You make insights concrete for investigations through intelligence products and/or official reports.
- You develop hypotheses and scenarios to prevent tunnel vision.
- You contribute to building a solid investigation strategy within criminal investigations.
- You work closely with colleagues within the intelligence and investigation organization and participate in existing (national) networks.
- You share your knowledge with colleagues to raise the quality of the department.
What you do
- Utilize tooling for analyzing investigation data.
- Apply specific knowledge of analysis tools and techniques for your own analysis.
- Act as an expert user and point of contact for colleagues.
- Seamlessly switch between different systems.
- Contribute to creating a data-driven work culture by identifying data opportunities and supporting colleagues in their use of analysis tooling.
- Present and document findings and advice from analyses clearly.
Profile
- Exceptionally strong analytical skills and able to find connections in information from various sources in a methodologically sound manner.
- Capable of processing large amounts of information and creating clear overviews.
- Preferably experience with qualitative research methods and data analysis.
- Ability to listen and ask the right questions for optimal alignment between client knowledge needs and the analysis product.
- Eager to learn, development-oriented, and able to generate insights under time pressure.
- Can distinguish main and secondary issues, make connections, and draw correct conclusions.
- Capable of providing good and critical advice, both solicited and unsolicited.
- Dares to take initiative, is collaborative, flexible, integral, and open-minded.
- Well-informed about societal developments and has a broad perspective.
What they ask
- HBO (bachelor) working and thinking level.
- Preferably a relevant education with a focus on research and/or (data) analysis.
- Ability to quickly master analysis tooling.
- Driving license B.
- Dutch nationality (can also be a second nationality).
- Successful completion of a mandatory assessment.
- Completion of a specific internal training is required.
Practical
- The position is generally performed during day shifts, with associated on-call duties.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel to other locations or work evenings, nights, or weekends are required due to the unpredictability of investigative work.
- A 14-week training at an internal academy for specific deployment is provided, possibly followed by an additional training program.
