As an occupational therapist in elderly care, you help clients maintain as much independence as possible in their daily lives. Small adjustments can make a big difference, allowing clients to continue performing activities important to them, thereby increasing their independence, well-being, and quality of life. You will work within an elderly care institution through a secondment organization.
You will work with diverse target groups, including clients with psychogeriatric or somatic problems, geriatric rehabilitation care (GRZ), and acquired brain injury (NAH). This offers the opportunity to gain broad experience within various care settings.
What you will do.
- Investigate, observe, and treat clients with various support needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Advise on aids, facilities, and environmental adaptations that contribute to the client's daily functioning.
- Train practical skills and enable hobbies and meaningful activities.
- Work closely with doctors, physiotherapists, psychologists, nurses, and other disciplines.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the care plan in a multidisciplinary context, with the client's wishes and possibilities at the center.
- Help clients maintain as much control over their own lives as possible, despite limitations.
Profile
- Completed HBO (higher professional education) degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered in the Quality Register for Paramedics.
- Affinity with elderly care.
- Work independently and take responsibility for your treatment trajectories.
- Strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Think in possibilities and have an eye for what clients can still do.
