Technical Specialist Security Systems
Physical security is a crucial part of a government organization's resilience program. As part of the vital infrastructure, this organization is responsible for demonstrably having in order, maintaining, and securing the physical security of its locations and critical facilities. Security plans and an overarching Plan of Approach have been drawn up; the phase from planning to implementation has now begun.
A physical security project organization has been established for the implementation, which realizes and secures the physical security of the head office and the 7 critical assets in accordance with the normative framework and the OBW principles (Design, Existence, Operation).
What you will do. As a technical specialist, you are responsible for the substantive/technical elaboration of the chosen solutions and for the quality of implementation and integration. This concerns both the functional operation of the systems and the technical preconditions for security, continuity, and manageability.
- Monitor the consistency between the normative framework, the program of requirements (PvE), the design choices, and the realization on site.
- Ensure that technical choices fit within the IT/OT context and that integrations (PSIM/TCS/CCTV/IDS) are demonstrably realized.
- The result is working, secure, and manageable security solutions with complete technical evidence.
Activities.
- Translate the normative framework and the (concept) PvE into technical requirements, design choices, and configuration guidelines.
- Monitor integration principles and the technical coherence between IT/OT and PSIM/TCS/CCTV/IDS.
- Coordinate technical alignment with internal teams (IT/OT, network, security, management) and with suppliers.
- Review designs and deliveries for quality, security-by-design, and manageability.
- Direct testing and acceptance (FAT/SAT), including resolving findings and corrective actions.
- Deliver technical documentation: configurations, as-built, integration descriptions, and delivery files.
Profile
You are quality-oriented and structured. In addition, you are able to demonstrably substantiate technical choices.
What they ask
- Demonstrable technical knowledge and/or work experience with electronic security systems and structural/mechanical measures.
- At least 2 reference projects in which the candidate has worked with system integrations, IT/OT separation, network and data flows, and security-by-design.
- Demonstrable work experience with drawing up a PvE, design review, and FAT/SAT processes.
- Demonstrably familiar with relevant standards, including those for physical security and privacy/DPIA for camera surveillance.
Preferences.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of electronic security systems and has worked with TCS, PSIM, CCTV, and IDS.
- At least 2 reference projects in the public sector in which the candidate has worked with system integrations, IT/OT separation, network and data flows, and security-by-design.
- Demonstrably familiar with relevant standards from ISO 27002 and CSIR/BIO2.
