Intelligence Specialist

A government organization is looking for a driven intelligence specialist to contribute to the fight against money laundering and subversive crime. You will work within a specialized government service focused on financial intelligence.

What you do

  • Search for signs of money laundering in systems and uncover underlying structures.
  • Conduct investigations independently or in a team with a high degree of expertise and accuracy.
  • Report research results in knowledge reports.
  • Clearly present research results to partners and consumers of intelligence products.
  • Maintain connections with regional information and expertise centers and the broader organization.
  • Contribute to the prevention and detection of money laundering, underlying offenses, and terrorist financing.
  • Optimally utilize the growing technical possibilities for automation and digitalization.

Profile

  • Excellent analytical thinking skills.
  • Not shying away from working with large databases and developing complex analyses with high quality.
  • Ability to conduct financial investigations independently.
  • Able to report clearly and easily understand the interests of various partners.
  • Able to add depth to both short-term and longer-term projects.
  • Quickly adopt new developments and have a good sense of numbers.
  • Enjoy teamwork and be able to handle the organizational sensitivity of various investigative bodies and the specialized government service.
  • HBO (bachelor) working and thinking level.
  • Preferably, a completed education in a financial and/or criminology-related field.
  • Preferably, expertise in public order and security, specifically the prevention and combating of money laundering and terrorist financing.
  • Good command of Dutch and English (both oral and written).
  • Preferably, experience in financial intelligence and/or investigation.
  • Preferably, experience with the development of cryptocurrency.
  • Dutch nationality required (can also be a second nationality).

Practical

  • A 14-week training course at a training institute for specific deployability, possibly followed by an additional training program.
  • Successfully completing a mandatory assessment is a prerequisite for the training.
  • Completing the training is a requirement for this position.
  • Temporary appointment as a civil servant in training, followed by a temporary appointment with a one-year probationary period, and then a permanent appointment.
  • A reliability and environmental investigation is part of the selection procedure.
  • A professional assessment may be part of the selection procedure.
