As a basic doctor in the crisis service, you are the first point of contact for people in acute psychological distress, often at risk to themselves and/or their environment. You assess situations, make diagnoses, and provide immediate, appropriate interventions. You work outreach in the region, with a laptop and phone provided. No day is the same, with much variety and direct impact on the lives of people in psychological distress.
What you do
- Assess the clinical picture jointly with a dual assessment partner such as a Social Psychiatric Nurse or psychiatrist.
- Provide the most appropriate interventions and make joint decisions to bring the acute situation under control.
- Act in a de-escalating manner.
- Intervene adequately based on expertise in psychiatric clinical pictures and suicidality.
Profile
- Curious, eager to learn, and able to switch effectively in dynamic situations.
- Open attitude, empathetic, and able to build trust with clients.
- Able to make quick decisions and work in a structured manner.
- Energized by collaborating with various disciplines.
What they ask
- A completed degree in Medicine.
- A valid BIG registration and AGB code (prior to employment).
- Experience or affinity with (acute) psychiatry.
- Driving license B and preferably a car.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Tact, empathy, and a client-oriented attitude.
Practical
- You will work in a committed and down-to-earth team within a crisis service.
- The atmosphere is open, collegial, and focused on collaboration.
- The crisis service and intensive home treatment (IHT) are fully in development.
- Work closely with clinics, polyclinics, and FACT teams to provide as much home care as possible and prevent admissions.
- Provide crisis care to clients throughout the entire region in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
