As a Work Preparer, you are responsible for the complete preparation of technical work and maintenance projects within an organization. You translate work orders into clear, safe, and efficient work packages and ensure that the necessary information, materials, resources, and documents are available in a timely manner. You are responsible for the organization, coordination, and follow-up of work activities. In doing so, you monitor safety, quality, planning, and the available budget.
You manage external partners and, where applicable, internal employees, and act as a central point of contact during execution. You work closely with various internal departments and external partners and ensure that work activities are carefully prepared and executed according to applicable procedures.
What you will do.
- Analyzes the nature and scope of assigned work packages and discusses work requests to achieve a clear and complete scope.
- Develops safe, efficient, and technically sound work methods and work descriptions.
- Compiles complete work preparation files, including risk analyses, technical documentation, drawings, and diagrams.
- Gathers and verifies all information necessary for the correct execution of the work.
- Monitors relevant measurements and KPIs within the work order process and takes actions to achieve the set objectives.
- Analyzes feedback after work execution and performs post-calculations where necessary, with a view to continuous improvement.
- Maintains technical contacts with suppliers and external service providers.
- Guides external partners during the start-up of work activities and informs them about safety, environmental, and other relevant risks.
- Actively participates in kick-off meetings, task risk analyses, safety discussions, and evaluations of external partners.
- Organizes and coordinates work activities and monitors execution by external partners.
- Monitors progress, quality, and correct execution and adjusts where necessary.
- Is the first point of contact for practical and technical questions during execution.
- Validates, receives, and checks delivered goods and materials.
- Ensures that the necessary work documentation is available in a timely manner for the responsible internal parties.
- Identifies external risks and translates them into concrete measures within existing task and risk analyses.
- Intervenes in case of safety or other procedural shortcomings and ensures correct follow-up.
- Actively contributes to the optimization of processes, working methods, and work preparation methods.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics or equivalent through relevant experience.
- Knowledge of measurement statements and technical work in piping, civil engineering, and electricity, among others.
- Broad technical knowledge of mechanical maintenance, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Basic knowledge of electrical maintenance and various technical materials, including metal, concrete, and plastics.
- Knowledge of construction techniques is a plus.
- Sufficient technical insight to independently analyze and prepare work activities.
- Experience or affinity with technical maintenance environments is a significant asset.
- Actively follows developments in your field and is willing to continuously develop your knowledge.
- Possesses a valid VCA certificate for supervisors or is willing to obtain one.
- Proficient with MS Office. Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
- Experience with MS Project or similar planning tools is an added value.
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing.
- Fluent in Dutch, both spoken and written. Knowledge of English and additional languages is a plus.
- Independent, results-oriented, and takes initiative.
- Flexible and able to easily switch between different tasks and priorities.
