The Defence Industry, Innovation and Armaments Division leads on the rapid development and delivery of cutting-edge and interoperable defence capabilities.
- You will work in the Industry, Partnerships and Policy Section as a defence production analyst.
- You will be responsible for applying analytical techniques to the collection and analysis of data from all relevant sources on defence industrial capacity and production.
- Additionally, you will support the development of analytical products and provide actionable recommendations, in support of the section's and division's work strands.
What you will do.
- Policy Development:
- Provide data-driven advice on defence policy and cooperation in relation to defence industrial capacity and production.
- Contribute to the development of guidance on industry related defence matters.
- Draft policy proposals and provide input to policy, strategy and conceptual papers.
- Information Management:
- Develop and oversee data repositories, resources and tools to support the section’s efficient access to information in relation to industrial production and supply chains.
- Monitor ongoing developments related to the organization's industrial base.
- Exchange knowledge and information with colleagues on topics influenced by industrial developments.
- Project Management:
- Identify, analyse, design and contribute expertise to projects/programmes.
- Deliver high quality reports on defence industrial matters as tasked, including actionable recommendations.
- Identify and analyse trends related insights to inform decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Develop a network of internal and external stakeholders to support research and analysis.
- Represent the Division and participate in meetings at staff level and with external stakeholders, in particular the EU.
- Perform any other related duty as assigned.
What they ask
- Possess a university degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant field.
- Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience, including researching, analysing and presenting data for strategic decision making, using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Have an understanding of current strategic policies and issues relating to the transatlantic defence and technological industrial base.
- Have excellent analytical skills, strong briefing (verbal and written) skills including the ability to identify and distil complex policy issues.
- Possess the following minimum levels of the organization's official languages (English/French): V (“Advanced”) in one; I (“Beginner”) in the other.

Practical
- Reports to the assigned lead officer within the section.
- Works in close cooperation with the section and entire Division.
- Maintains contacts with senior members of the International Staff, national delegations, Science & Technology Organization, Agencies, International Organizations, industry partners and subject-matter experts.
- The nature of this position may require the staff member at times to be called upon to travel for work and/or to work outside normal office hours.
