Project Engineer

For an industrial production environment.
- Preparation and realization of technical projects concerning utilities and production-supporting installations.
- Combination of smaller optimizations, replacement investments, and larger CAPEX projects.
- Projects may include steam, condensate, compressed air, process water, cooling water, HVAC, industrial gases, energy supply, and wastewater treatment.
What you do
- Guide projects from scope definition and engineering to execution, commissioning, and handover to operations and maintenance.
- Prepare and guide CAPEX and OPEX projects within utilities.
- Develop projects including:
- Steam and condensate systems
- Compressed air installations
- Process, cooling, and industrial water
- HVAC and ventilation systems
- Industrial gases
- Wastewater and water treatment
- Energy supplies and technical distribution networks
- Analyze existing utility installations and identify optimization or replacement needs.
- Translate operational needs into a clear technical scope and feasible project solution.
- Prepare URS documents, technical specifications, scope descriptions, and plans of approach.
- Prepare, check, and modify P&IDs, technical layouts, and 3D models.
- Dimension and select pipes, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, tanks, and other utility components.
- Perform or coordinate technical calculations and capacity studies.
- Request, technically evaluate, and compare quotes from suppliers and contractors.
- Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Monitor safety, quality, budget, and planning.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, engineering, automation, E&I, and HSE.
- Provide technical support for malfunctions, capacity problems, and startup issues.
- Organize and follow up on testing, commissioning, and technical delivery.
- Provide project documentation and handover to operations and maintenance.
What they ask
- Bachelor's or master's degree in electromechanics, energy technology, industrial sciences, or equivalent by experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within an industrial or production environment.
- Demonstrable experience with projects concerning utilities and technical infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of multiple utility systems, such as steam, compressed air, water, cooling, HVAC, energy, or wastewater.
- Experience with both smaller technical modifications and larger CAPEX investments.
- Experience with reading, preparing, and modifying P&IDs.
- Knowledge of CAD and/or 3D drawing packages.
- Insight into piping, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and technical distribution systems.
- Basic knowledge of measurement and control technology, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
- Knowledge of Siemens S7, TIA Portal, or Schneider PLC systems is a plus.
