Security Guard

Terrains, buildings, vehicles, equipment: everything belonging to the organization must be guarded and secured. As a security guard at the BBO, you are the silent force at locations. Together with your colleagues, you will perform a combination of tasks, such as access controls, observations, patrols, interventions, and first response. Your daily tasks include:

• Patrolling locations
• Observing irregularities and monitoring camera footage
• Detecting suspicious situations and acting effectively when necessary
• Responding to alarms, using force if the situation requires it
• Performing access controls and ensuring only authorized persons gain access
• Operating access systems
• Providing support during emergencies within the organizational units

Good basic training and regular refresher courses are part of the job.

• An MBO 2 Security diploma
• Preferably previous work experience in security or as a military personnel
• Dutch nationality (can be a second nationality)
• Physically fit, actively exercising, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle
• Participates seamlessly in 5-shift services (day/evening/night and weekend shifts)
• Possesses a B driving license (manual) and own transport for commuting

During the first few weeks, you will participate unarmed in the continuous service. Before participating armed, new BBO employees first follow our internal training (INI). This lasts approximately 20 weeks, of which 5 weeks are internal at a training location. During the training, you will receive, among other things, an Integrated Professional Skills Training and learn to professionally handle means of force such as a service weapon (pistol), baton, and handcuffs.

A security screening and possibly a reference check are part of the selection procedure. The security screening is a background check by an intelligence and security service, including criminal records and financial matters, and takes an average of 8 weeks. Before you can start, a stability measurement also takes place, which assesses your stress resistance and psychological resilience. You are willing to take the oath or promise for civilian employees of the organization.
