Investment Analyst Energy Ventures

An investment company has over €3 billion available to invest in innovative start-ups and scale-ups and large-scale projects. The organization distinguishes itself by its emphasis on impact, long-term focus, high risk appetite, and scale. Investments are made in R&D-intensive companies working on sustainable technologies and projects where sustainable technology is rolled out. This is done in collaboration with other market investors, with the organization itself acting as a lead investor where necessary.

The Energy investment team focuses on accelerating the energy transition, such as the development of green hydrogen, new forms of electricity distribution and storage, and CO2-neutral heat sources.

What you will do. As an Investment Analyst, you will be part of a team and co-responsible for executing investment activities. You will support the team in sourcing, structuring, and analyzing investments in start-ups and scale-ups within the energy transition.

  • You will be part of a deal team and contribute to investment proposals.
  • You will analyze markets, intended impact, business models, business plans, revenue models, and ownership and financing structures.
  • You will participate in discussions with (potential) relations, prepare them, and document them.
  • You will be involved in market research and deal sourcing, i.e., searching for companies within the energy transition in which we want to invest.
  • You will gradually gain more responsibility and the opportunity to grow within the organization.

What they ask

  • A completed university degree (WO) in science or engineering.
  • 1-2 years of work or internship experience, of which at least 6 months in PE or VC.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to convey abstract ideas in clear language.
  • A passion and drive for sustainability and technological innovation.
  • Demonstrable affinity with the energy transition is a plus.
  • Affinity with building both internal and external relationships.
