You truly make a difference for families. As an Ambulatory Youth and Family Counselor, you step into the living world of families and help them regain their independence.
What you will do.
- You enter the living world of families, conduct home visits, build a relationship of trust, and work together towards sustainable change.
- You look not only at the problems but especially at the strengths and opportunities within the family.
- With methodical insight, creativity, and a warm approach, you teach families new skills and actively practice them with them, in their own environment.
- You guide families with complex issues who want to move forward on their own, but sometimes need a push.
- You know how to connect, motivate, and make goals concrete together.
- You work with different family dynamics and know that each family needs something different.
- You write care plans, report on successes and challenges, and support families with various requests for help.
- You work methodically and purposefully to strengthen families and increase their self-reliance, with an eye on long-term independence.
- Within the basic team, you work together to make an impact; you learn from each other, grow together, and share successes.
- Your knowledge of the social map and youth and family care is excellent; you know which paths to take and when to involve other expertise.
- You have a lot of freedom to organize your own agenda and activities and work independently, but can always rely on your colleagues and the basic team.
- You are flexible in working hours to align with the daily lives of families.
Profile
- An independent and entrepreneurial type with a good dose of creativity and a strong personality.
- Able to handle complex situations well, dare to make decisions, and remain calm when things get complicated.
What they ask
- A completed HBO bachelor's degree in an agogic field, for example, Social Work or Pedagogy, or a WO degree in Orthopedagogy.
- SKJ registered (or able to register immediately).
- In possession of a driving license and own transport and willing to travel.
- A Christian faith conviction and able to indicate what this means to you.
Practical
- You can work from office locations where you meet colleagues, collaborate, and share knowledge.
- As an ambulatory counselor, you are often on the road independently and have the freedom to organize your work largely yourself.
