The Anatomy Skills Centre of an educational institution organizes anatomy practicals for Medicine, Dentistry, and Physiotherapy programs.
- It also facilitates specialized postgraduate training and anatomical research.
- The team is looking for an enthusiastic and committed colleague with a passion for anatomy to support the department.
What you do
- Responsible for the embalming, preservation, and management of bodies in preparation for practicals, training, and research.
- Preparation and plastination of anatomical structures.
- Preparation of dissection exercises and various anatomy practicals.
- Guiding students during their learning moments and answering their questions.
- Supporting lecturers in organizing exams.
- Providing support for research projects.
- Preparation, support, and clean-up of specialized surgical workshops.
- Stock management and ensuring the proper functioning of audiovisual and didactic material.
- Adhering to correct lab practices, being a member of the SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) antenna, and ensuring the order and cleanliness of the labs.
- Keeping the database up-to-date.
- Co-responsible for (telephone) on-call duty and guiding donors and family members during the body donation process.
- Being part of a team and contributing to a positive and efficient working environment.
Profile
- Preferably a bachelor's degree - or an equivalent level through experience - and some relevant work experience.
- Well-versed in common PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Office or database management) and administratively strong.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and open to further training on anatomical knowledge and embalming and preservation techniques.
- Able to work proactively, independently, and in a team.
- Very accurate, eager to learn, quick to pick up new skills, and solution-oriented.
- Discreet and empathetic.
- Customer-friendly attitude and enjoys interacting with students.
Practical
- Fixed-term contract for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
- Full-time employment.
- Starting in grade 5 for immediate deployability, grade 4 for promising candidates who still need to complete a specific training trajectory.
