An organization processes animal by-products into valuable raw materials for pet food, animal feed, and fertilizers, among other things. Approximately 17 employees work at the production site. It is a compact production environment where colleagues know each other, switch quickly, and find solutions together. Within this environment, the water treatment plant plays an important role.
The plant must function reliably, but at the same time, there are constant opportunities to steer processes smarter and further optimize the use of chemicals, water, and energy.
Your team. As a Water Treatment Officer, you are part of the Operations team and report directly to the site's Operations Manager. You work daily with production and the technical service and also have regular contact with colleagues in environmental, technical, and QHSE departments at other sites of the organization. Communication lines are short. If you see a challenge, you discuss it directly with the right colleague. If you have an idea to make the process run better, you also get the space to implement it.
What you will do. You ensure that the biological wastewater treatment plant continues to function reliably and efficiently. This means not only checking if everything is running well. You understand what happens in the process, investigate deviations, and actively look for opportunities to improve the plant's performance. This is a hands-on role, where approximately half of your time is spent actively on the installation, and the other half on analyses, follow-up, and administration.
- You daily monitor the operation of the biological wastewater treatment plant.
- You check pumps, sensors, levels, and process parameters, among other things, and intervene when values start to deviate.
- You perform simple analyses, organize external sample analyses, and interpret the results.
- You investigate process problems and try to determine their cause.
- You also monitor the operation of environmental technical installations such as the RTO, biobeds, and scrubbers.
- You actively look for improvements to make the process more stable, efficient, or sustainable.
- You manage the necessary process data, reports, and administrative follow-up.
Profile
Your strength lies primarily in understanding biological and biochemical processes and translating that knowledge into an installation that must function well every day.
