A government organization is looking for an experienced communication advisor for strategic and socially sensitive assignments, including communication regarding asylum reception. You oversee the playing field, identify interests and risks, and translate complex topics into a clear communication strategy. You advise administrators, management, and colleagues, while also actively performing tasks yourself.
What you will do.
- Advise administrators, management, and project leaders on communication strategy, positioning
- Develop and implement communication plans for asylum reception and other strategic assignments
- Monitor and analyze developments in society, politics, media, and the organization
- Identify communication opportunities and risks and advise proactively on them
- Prepare and execute resident communication
- Organize and attend information meetings and participation processes
- Draft and edit key messages, letters, news items, web texts, Q&As, and other communication tools
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including regional partners and implementing organizations
- Support media relations and spokesperson activities
- Monitor the coherence, timing, and quality of communication
- Collaborate with other communication professionals within the organization
What they ask
- Completed HBO bachelor's degree (higher professional education), preferably in Communication or similar
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrable work experience within a government or political-administrative organization
- Demonstrable work experience with crisis communication and/or communication around sensitive social themes
- Minimum 1 year of demonstrable work experience with independently drafting and implementing communication plans
- Available to work in the office
Preferences.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrable work experience within a government or political-administrative organization
- Demonstrable work experience with strategic and socially sensitive issues
- Demonstrable work experience with resident communication, participation processes, and stakeholder management
- Demonstrable work experience as a web editor within a CMS environment, such as Drupal, Sitecore, WordPress
- Demonstrable work experience with writing, editing, and optimizing online content according to web writing and accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
