A consulting firm is looking for a Lead Sustainability Consultant to strengthen its expert team. You bring broad and in-depth, applied sustainability expertise and can independently lead complex client projects: from business question and project approach to implementation and a high-quality end result. You will work for organizations from various sectors across the full spectrum of corporate sustainability.
What you will do.
- Translate complex sustainability and business issues into strategies, roadmaps, and concrete actions.
- Independently lead sustainability projects and act as a strategic sparring partner for clients and their management teams.
- Define and monitor project approach, scope, planning, budget, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate project teams and bring together the right internal expertise.
- Advise clients on relevant sustainability legislation, frameworks, trends, and market developments.
- Apply expertise within various domains, including ESG strategy, CO₂ accounting (Scope 1, 2, and 3), CO₂ reduction, CSRD/ESRS, VSME, EcoVadis, SBTi, and LCA/PCF.
- Translate methodologies and sustainability data into relevant insights, strategic choices, and pragmatic solutions.
- Share expertise with colleagues and contribute to the further development of approaches, methodologies, and services.
- Identify commercial opportunities with clients and contribute to knowledge sharing and thought leadership.
What they ask
- Minimum 6 years of relevant, applied work experience within sustainability, preferably within sustainability consulting or a similar advisory environment.
- Broad knowledge of corporate sustainability, with demonstrable in-depth expertise within several core domains.
- Experience in independently leading complex projects and advising senior stakeholders.
- Strong strategic and analytical ability, combined with a pragmatic business mindset.
- You take ownership, bring structure, and dare to challenge clients and colleagues on content.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly and can make complex subject matter accessible.
- Excellent professional proficiency in Dutch, both verbally and in writing.
- Very good professional proficiency in English.
