As an Electrical Technician, you ensure that the electrical installations and components of a defense organization's ships function safely and reliably. You perform revisions, maintenance, repairs, and modifications, adjust installations, and resolve malfunctions. You work independently and determine the correct approach and sequence of your activities. With your electrical expertise, you keep essential installations operational for every maritime assignment.
What you will do.
- Revise, repair, and assemble electrical components to ensure installations function reliably and safely.
- Measure, adjust, and test installations according to technical standards and record results in reports.
- Safely decommission and recommission installations and transfer them correctly tested and documented.
- Analyze malfunctions, determine causes, and repair defects in electrical installations and components.
- Guide colleagues, trainees, and hired personnel in electrical work and monitor the quality of work performed.
- Identify recurring problems and discuss improvements with technical specialists and Engineering.
- Participate in the on-board watch cycle, both during and outside regular working hours.
What they ask
- MBO-4 degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a maritime specialization.
- Experience with electrical components, installations, and systems.
- Ability to independently assemble, test, and commission electrical components.
- Knowledge of NEN 3140 and NEN 3840 or willingness to obtain this knowledge.
- Possess VCA VOL or be willing to obtain it.
Preferences.
- Experience with electrical installations on board ships.
- Experience with revision, maintenance, and fault analysis.
- Experience in guiding colleagues, trainees, or external technicians.
